Providence Provides

PAIS TttsOaeoof Mr. N, IDWAROti (Vt A RIPORTBR). There is a delight in sating ths part of Providence or of good Santa Claus. It gi v«s full play to the beat form of the love of power that is ao often found in man, power to befriend, power to raise, power to sonsole; and when suoh instances as the following are brought to light, through the kindness of Mr. Nicholas Edwards, of Foxstreet, South Dunedin, it shows that there are unselfish members of the community who help mankind whenever they can. Taking his memory back to three years ago, Mr. Edwards said : "It is about that time since I used a medicine called Clements Tonio for the purpose of putting my blood into order for one thing, aud for restoring my digestion for another."

"What indications were there that your blood required purifying?" asked our interviewer.

" Weil, a number of sores broke out over my arms, and no measures that I adopted could take them away, with the solitary exception of Clements Tonic. No other medicine had the same effect on my blood as that did, and nothing that I had ever taken before was half so beneficial to my digestion as Clements Tonic, For about eight months I had been ailing from extreme languor, feeling as if it was too much trouble to do even the lightest of work, and not caring to go out anywhere to enjoy myself. A dull sense of depression seemed to have got me fairly under, and when I had been suffering from indigestion a little time I was scarcely ever free from headaches, and I found that my rest was greatly interfered with. I could go to bed feeling dreadfully tired out, but for all that it was more than I could do to get to sleep when I wanted, and through having only a few hours' slumber each night my vitality became quite exhausted. Every morning I got up feeling weary and dejected, and with an awfully bitter taste in my mouth. My sight was not as good as it ought to have been either, for some* times there appeared to be quite a mist before me, and my eyes felt as if they had swelled during the night. It was a very wretched experience I had, take my word, for when my appetite died away it was surprising how quickly my strength went, and then I was more disinclined for work than ever. Worse than all, I was subjected to no small amount of pain, which I am positive was caused through my food not digesting, as it was always soon after eating that they began. My stomach used to get full of wind and make me feel a burden to myself; and my chest got such a heavy sensation in it that it gave me trouble to.get my breath sometimes. Under my shoulder blades, too, the pains were very severe, and I had such nasty aches in my loins that I never thought of taking a walk if it could be possibly avoided." "To be like that was almost as bad as being laid up." •* Pretty well, and if it had not been for Clements Tonic I might have been, because a man cannot keep to his work very long in suoh a wretched state of health as I was in. However, I am glad to say that my days of siekness from those complaints were soon over, under the wonderfully effectirequalities of Clements Tonic, and it will be a source of pleasure to me to help those suffering in the same manner by letting them know what that medicine can do. It cleansed and enriched my blood to begin with, and I got a remarkably good appetite almost at once. Using Clements Tome seemed to awaken s new interest in life within me, for the despondent feelings left, and when renewed energy earns I could work with a cheerful spirit. There is no doubt about Clements Tonic being the best thing going for the digestive organs, as it fixed mine up in no time, and when the pains and aches had all fone I left off taking that splendid remedy, eoause I had no further need for it."

"If you don't mind I'll report your CUM?"

" I have no objaction. I have lived in Dunedin for twenty-seven years, eighteen of which have been spent in this house, so you may guess I am well-known, and I would not speak as I hare in regard to Clements Tonic unless I could honestly recommend it. You can publish these facts fa any way you choose." STATUTORY DECLARATION, I, Nicholas Edwards, of fox-street, South Bunedin, in the Colony of New Zetland, do solemnly and sincerely deolare that I have carefully read the annexed document, eoatiatlng of two toKoi, and consecutively numbered from one to two, and that it contains and it a true and faithful account of my illness and our* by Clements Tonic, and elio contains my full permission to publien in any way my etatemente—which I gire voluntarily, without receiving any payment; and I make this eoletnn deolaration conscientiously believing tbe earn* to be true, and by virtue of the Sioviolons of an Act of the General Assembly of New island, Intituled " Th» Justices of Peace Act, 1882." Declared at South Dunedin, thlselxth day of March, en* thousand nine hundred and three. Before me, WM. WARPBOP, J-P.
