He asked that the Council take some action in the matter. Cr Laidlaw moved, and Or M'Math seconded—That the Deputy-Mayor and the town clerk visit Mi Ooulson's property, and that they be given power to take what action they may think necessary.—Carried. <„— From the secretary Alexandra Tennis Club, asking that the Club be allowed . to erect a 9ft wire-netting fence round the tennis courts. -,... Cr Anderson directed the attention of the Council to the nuisance caused by persons riding bicycles on the footpaths.

It was resolved that the Inspector of Nuisances be instructed to take proceedings against any persons corimit* ting a breach of the bye-law in this lespect. Resolved—That T J Ferguson's deposit of £lO on the original reservoir contract be forfeited.
