POETRY

SITE IT A THOUGHT. Sow little it costs, if we give it a thought, To make happy some heart each day 1 Jut cne kind word, or a tender smile, As we go on onr daily way; Perchance a look will suffice to clear The cloud from a neighbour's face, And the pieea of a hand in sympathy, A cerro*ful tear efface.

One walks in sunlight; another goes All weary in ike shade; One treads a path that is fair and smooth; Another must pray for aid. * It coats eo little I I wonder why We give it eo little thought P A i mile—kind words—a glance—a tcuch— What magic with them is wrought!
