The following business of local interest was transacted at last meeting of the Waste Lands Board :
Laidlaw and Crawford applied for the right to erect a rabbit proof fence on the north side of the sludge channel reserve adjoining their homestead preemptive.—Granted ; rent 15s per annum, under the 16th clause of the Land Act.
Ranger O'Neill's report on the applications by M Isbister and M'Adie Bros for areas on Run 261 a, Poolburn, district, was received and applications declined.
John Wilson's application for exemption from residence on small grazing run. section 5, block vi, Lauder district, was declined, The Assistant Chief Inspector of Stock forwarded an application from Frederick M'Arthur for a right to occupy section 1 block, x, Leaning Rock district mining reserve.—Yearly license to be granted at a rental of 20s per annum,
Ranger O'Neill reported on the application by James Austin for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Act, 1894," over sec'ion 177, block ii 3 Leaning Rock district, which was declined.
