The following business of local interest was transacted at la«t week's meeting of the Waste Lands Board :

Ranger O'Neill reported on the application by Mrs Margaret Dick for an occupation lease under "The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1894," over two acres Leaning Kock District.—Application granted at a rental of 5s per annum. Upon Ttonoror O'Neill's report the applies* tion by OH Paul for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," over 12 acres on Galloway Fl=it, Leaning Rock district, was granted; rental 6d per acre. Upon Ranger O'Neill's report the application by Archibald Ashworth for an occupation lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," over 100 acres on Run 220, Tiger Hill district, was declined, as the granting of this application would prejudically effect the working of run 220.

Upon Ranger O'Neill's report the application by E Sainsbury for an occupation lease under "The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act 1894," over 100 acres on Run No 220, Tiger Hill District, was declined for the same reason as in the previous case.

John Crawford wrote accepting the board's offer of a yearly license over section 178, block ii, Leaning Rock District.— Granted.

Ranger O'Neill reported that John Wilson, lessee of small grazing run, section 5, block VI, Lauder district, was not complying with the residence conditions of his lease.—Mr Wilson to show jause why his small grazing run should not be forfeited for non-com-pliance with residence conditions. Ranger O'Neill reported that Martha IT Sinnamon, holder of sections 12 and 14, Tiger Hill district, under or p license IS!, had not compli-d with the residence or improvement conditions of her license—Miss Sinnamon to show cause why her holding should not be forfeited for non-compliance with residence conditions. Ranger O'Neill's report that Thomas Sheppard, lessee of small grazing run section 6, block vi. Lauder district, has not beea complying with the residence condition of his lease was held over. Ranger O'Neill reported on sections 10 and 11, Tiger Hill district, formerly held by James Healey.—Section to be again offered at capital value of 12s 6d per acre. Ranger O Neill forwarded a report on an application by Mr John Mellor for an occupation lease, comprising 80 acres on Run N0,223, Lauder district—As Mr Mellor already holds 4C acres on the south side of the road, the board granted him 60 acres, subject to survey ; rent Is per acre.
