THE MAID.
Th-3 Maid to-day must have her wayShe imo'ies, axd thockß her mother; Sh 1 p&iro'j Man where'er she can, And lon go to ba—her biothor.
Sho swears that she will rever bo A alii j, ni*rried minion; A ad girls, j» u know, will never go And alter their opinion.
But then, at last, when Love goes pact, She may lament htr folly; She may regret her c'garette And nurse a Pretty Folly. D. BIBKEN-ULTH.
LOVE'S KESUBKECTION. When he withdrew his smile I dag a little grave, and placed therein Some memories, and covered them with carja
Lest some rude stranger, passing unaware, My little grave might spy, and pry within.
And then I waited patiently awhile, Until he, meeting, met me with a smile— Ah! such a smile, and such a look he
gave, I've quit 9 forgotten where I dog that grave
