LEMON PICKLE.
Take six freßh lemons, wipo them clean, then with a sharp knife make tour cuts in each lemon from the stalk downwards cutting nearly to the middle of the lemoj)' then into each incision put as much Bait as you can, and place the lemons in a dish in a sunny window,- turn them often, and lot them remain a week, then put in a Ur with their juice, twelve small onions and a teaspoontul of chillies. Boil three pints of white wine vinegar with a quarter of a pound of whole ginger, two ounces of whole black pepper, twelve clove?, and a quarter of a pound,of mustard seßd. Pour this over the lemoflß when boiling, cover with a plate, and next day tie down'
