(From an Occasional Correspondent.) Mr and Mrs Cabot were "At Borne " to their friends at their residence on Wednesday evening, Bth Inst,, when quite a large party assembled, everyone enjoying themselves exceedingly. Dancing was the feature ef tba* evening, bat ping-pong, cards, and games afibrded much pleasure to fhe non-dancers. The decorations of tvtrgreene, Chinese lanterns, drc, were much admired. A most reeherehe supper was laid in the dining room, the table being artistically decorated in Japense style. Mrs Cabot received her guests in a costume of black surah silk, with transparent yoke and sleeves . and jet medallions. Among the guests present I noticed the following:—Mrs "Hawson, geranium pink oriental satin, effectively trimmrd with chiffon and black velvet; Mrs Lewis (Poolburn), cream crepe-de-chine and-chiffon; Mrs Turnbull, black voile with cluny lace; Mrs Truesdale, marine blue, guipure trimmings; Mrs Holt, black foulard, with effective touches of pink; Miss - Donnelly, rose pink glace, with lace; Miss Hoffman (Matakanui), amethyst blue voQe ; Miss Truesdale, white silk and point lace ; Miss M. Truesdale, blue satin, buff guipure trimmings ; Miss Devereux, sapphire blue mousseline; Miss Sheppard (Matakauui), cerise glace; Miss Stacpoole, scarlet .flUk with real lace; Misses Bead (2), blue tussore and chiffon fischus; Miss O'Shea, white lace over blue silk, pale blue chou. Among the gentlemen present were Dr M'Droy, Messrs Turnbull. Lewis. Wood, Murphy, Truesdale, Hawson, Leask, Holt, Mitchell, Donnelly, and others.
