In 1882 a picture entitled "The Holy Family " was lent to the Bristol Young Mens' Christian Association, and the owner, a lady (Mrs Morgan), was willing to accept £lO for it. The offer was not accepted. Mrs Morgan bequeathed the picture at her death to a Liverpool gentleman, and tbe head of the Marlborough Picture Gallery has now estimated its value at about £IO.OOO, The picture is the work of Pietro Cortona.
