|BY WIRR,] (From our own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, Wednesday, 8 p.m. , The Pope shows a slight improvement, but spent a restless night. His physician states that unless something unexpected happens he may live for a day or two yet. Agnes Campbell, aged 28, left her home last evening, and this afternoon her body was found in the Water of Leith. No reason is yet known for the cause of death. It is reported that George Osmond, with whom the girl was keeping company, also left his home in South Dunedin last evening, and so far as can be ascertained has not yet returned. The Coursing Club's meeting opened to-day. No finals are to hand. It is reported that Mr Kogers, Oity Engineer, hands in his resignation at to-night's meeting of the City Council. The Newtown licensing petition is now before the Court of Appeal. Nine fresh cases of smallpox are reported in Tasmania. President Loubet is receiving a great reception in England. He dined with the King at Buckingham Palace. The Address-in-Reply debate still continues.
