Poultry.
Mr Clunie, of Lower Kyebuw, forwards to the "Mt Ida Chronicle " the following on the above subject:— I noticed a leader in your columns on the poultry industry a short time ago, and, if you think it will be of interest t© your readers, especially those interested in poultry—and I think all farmers ought to be—the following information may give some encouragement to them as eggs were selling at 6d and 7d in Maniototo the most of the summer. I have just sold in one deal to one firm in Dunedin 600 dozen preserved eggs at Is 3d per dozen, which is probably the largest single deal in the line which has taken place in the Maniototo, and I have still some left, which you can see is better than selling at 6d or 7d during the summer months. The actual outlay is about £d per dozen; that does not include labor, which is not a great deal. Some of these eggs were preserved in ovo, some in preservitas and some in Mr Sprosen's eggine. I will be only too glad to give anyone interested all the information I can in the matter.
