Inquest.

An inquest touching the death of the late Mr Robert Lett was held at the Alexandra Court-house on Monday before Mr J. D. Buchanan, J.P., Act-ing-Coroner, and the following jury:— Messrs J M'Eachen (foreman), J Nieper, W Poulson, J O’Connor, A South, and J Smith, About a dozen witnesses were examined, including Dr Gregg, whose evidence went to show that the deceased had for seme time past been suffering from limy deposits in the arteries. In his opinion the actual cause of death was syncope, brought on by over-indulgence in alcohol, which acted on the affected arteries. After considering the evidence, the jury returned a verdict in accordance wth the medical testimony, adding that no blame was attachable to any one.
