Johnny Cake.—One cup sour milk; one! egg; one-half cup sugar; a tablespoonful butter; one cup sweet milk and ]ooa of flour, with one and one-half cups nice fine; cornmeal; one fceaspoonful of soda, Melt; the butter in the pan it is to be baked in] and turn the cake oa the butter and the! butter and the cup of sweet milk on the top of the johnny cake.
