WHINBERRY WINE.
That is the name given to that delicious little berry also known aB bilberries in many parts. The fruit should be gathered on a dry day, the leaves and stalks removed, and the fruit weighed. To four gallons of fruit allow Bix gallons of cold water and ten pounds of moiet sugar. Fat all the ingredients into a tub, and let them ferment. When the working ceases, add half a gallon of brandy, two ounces of powdered ginger, & handful of lavender and resemary leaves, and two ounces of cream of tartar. Let the liquor stand for forty-eight hours. Then strain very carefully through a hair-Bieve. Put into a cask, bung it : lightly until the working ceases, then ! urive the bußg securely down, and let it and for three months.
