| (From our own Correspondent.) BY WIRE. DUNEDlN,Wednesday, 8 p.m. The Chinese who were'arrested on Sunday night in Walker-street, for playing fan .tan, were before the court to-day. On Lee, oocupier of the premises, was fined £25 and the others were fined £1 each. Sensational scenes have occurred in the French Chamber of Deputies, where M Paures has re-opened the Dreyfus affair. Latest advices from London state that aflairs in Macedonia are more complicated and that foreign influence is now powerless to prevent a rebellion. Telegrams from Fremantle, with accounts from the latest Ceylon papers to had, re -Sir Hector Mac Donald, show that a discussion took place in the Legislative Council there, when the Governor stated that the charges against Macdonald were to be investigated. Macdonald, on his return to Ceylon, would have been placed undei arrest, pending the court martial. It was expected there he would be acquitted.
