Licensing Committee' Elections.

Mt IDA,, The following is the result of the polling in the Mt Ida district :~R F Inder, 630; James Mitchell, 617; A Kinney, 518; W Sutherland, 466; T L Bradshaw, 451; J M‘Knight, 33? ; D C Stewart, 295. The first five are the successful candidates. All the candidates nominated were Moderates, expecting Mr Stewart, who stood on the Temperance ticket. In Dunedin and Caversham prohibition committees were elected by overwhelming majorities. Invercargill also returned a prohibition committee, as did Waikouaiti, Newtown, and’ Wellington city.
