Tuapeka Licensing Committee.
Owing to the omission of a few lines from the report of the Tuapeka Licensing Committee, in bur last issue, the references made to the Celedonian Hotel, Alexandra, and the Dunstan Hotel, Clyde,,were incorrectly stated. The following is the corrected report ot what transpired in connection with these two hotels : Caledonian Hotel, Alexandra.—The police report was that the house was old and dilapidated, and required to be re-built, as it could not be satisfactorily repaired. The committee decided that a new house was necessary, and the plans for it would have to -be submitted to the annual meeting, and the* erection of the building started in August. Dunstan Hotel, Clyde. The police report was that the older portion of this house be repaired before the winter to render it fit for habitation. •• Mr Hutton said the contract for repairs had already been put in hand. The committee were of opinion that something more than scrim and paper should divide the rooms, and ordered that the rooms be separated by rough lining above the dado.
