[By «V Lyddite.''] ■ •: . As Easter-approaches, the matter of battalion camps isV.being arranged in various parts of the, colony. '-In this respect it is intended to assemble the thin! batla ion of the O.R. Volunteers at Oamaru on Thursday, April 9th, with a view to carrying out a route march during the four days ofEa-ter. The Government will grant the allowance of 2s 6d per man for the four days-lays'training from Good Friday to Easter Monday. This also c>unts three daylight parades towards capitation. The Alexandra, Queenstown, and Cromwell dorps, who will be undoarms travelling for several days longer than the other corps of the battaion, will receive the allowance for six days as a special case. ■ i|f The following is an outline of the work proposed to be carried out as contained in a circular issued from headquarters at'-OaeiHiu % -Uieut-Col. Headland : " s.Mobilise and encamp at (>&maru on Thursday evening, April 9th. On Friday morning parade and carry out battalion movements and march through thetpwn. Lunch at 12 noon, and at 1 p.m. commence march to Maheno—nine miles—and encamp there that evening. . On Saturday the battalion will march to Hampden—twelve miles—and pitch, camp. On Sunday morning church parade. At 3 p.m. march to Kartigi—eight mi'es. ..-.,,. On Monday march to Palmerston—eight miles—over Horse Range, driving back an enemy and occupying the town. i The various companies entrain for homM by the night trains. The route march -to be carried out as if moving through hostile country. Transport waggons for each com pany's baggage will accompany the (roops.
