THE CO OPERATIVE SOCIETY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Now that the Alexandra and Olyde Co-operative Society are so'tfar advanced as to issue their prospectus, I trust the breadwinners pf the district will give the scheme their practical support. To cheapen the cost of living is to increase wages. Wages are soon to come down—fitters, 10s; winchmen, 9s; firemen, Bs—so that every shilling will have to be judiciously spent. Lots' have., talked about the benefits obtainable from the establishment of a co-operative store. The thing is now in front of you. Yon have the chance of supplying yow youngsters with food ,at« coat price. Undoubtedly the thanks of the cbm« munity are due to the .promoters of this .undertaking. Lay hold of it, and make' ih the sucoess it deserves to be, ~I am, etc.i : i i . ; f ; BREAfiWINKEB. Alexandra, March Bth.
