Coronation Gold Dredging Co, 95 acres, Galloway Flat.—Form of license to be submitted to Minister for his consent, James Brown, water race, from Stockyard Golly, Galloway.—Adjourned to March 9th. James Brown, residence site of la at Graveyard Gully, Galloway.—Adjourned to March 9th. Henry Scott, water race, 6 heads from Manuherikia. MAGISTRATE'S COURT, ALEXANDRA Monday, February 9tb, 1903. (Before F J Burgess, Fsq, 8 M.) CIVIL OASES. James Nipper v. W.J. Thompson; c'aim, £5 3s 4d for goods supplied. Mr Macdonald appeared for plaintiff— After hearing evidence, his Worship reserved his decision. Agnes Drummey v James Nieper; claim £4 10s, balance of price of a bullock sold to plaintiff Mr Mac donald appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Hutton for defendant. Defendant put in a counter claim for £9 15s, damages caused by plaintiffs cattle breaking down a fe*ce belonging to defendant. —After a lengthy hearing, His Worship allowed defendant £3 5s on the counter claim, and gave judgment for plaintiff for the balance of the amount claimed, £1 5s Andrew S. "Wilson, was charged with having neglected to register the birth of his child within six weeks from the date of birth.—Convicted, and fined 5s without costs. George Field charged Michael M'Carthy with having used abusive and threatening language, and prayed that defendant be required to find sureties to keep the peace,— After hearing the evidence, His Worship dismissed the case. MAGISTRATE'S COURT, OPHIR. Tuespay, January 29th, 1903. (Before J. M'Ennis, Esq., S.M.) John Fitches was charged by Kenny Bros, with having failed to give notice of his intention to muster sheep on the run adjoining plaintiffs', in accordance with the provisions of the Stock Act. Mr Macdonald appeared for the informant, and Mr Hutton for defendant.—After hearing a good deal of evidence, His Worship intimated that he would reserve his decision. Several old age pensions were renewed.
WARDENS' COURT, OPHIR. Friday, January 30th, 1903. (Befor* J. M'Ennis, Esq., Warden.) SUIT. Laidlaw and Crawford v. William Wilson.—Suit for forfeiture of water race licenses and £192 damages for loss of sheep drowned in defendant's race. Mr Hutton appeared for plaintiffs, and Messrs Kirk and Cutten for defendants. The suit for Forfeiture was withdrawn. Evidence was given by Peter Duncan, W. Ijaidlaw, }?. 0. Donnelly (for plaintiffs), and by John Ewing, bV Tempiston, and H, Budd (for defendant). His Worship reserved judgment. APPLICATIONS. William Wilson applied to be alfowfid to carry the wator of several races in one race—Objected to by Laidlaw and Crawford.—The application was granted, the race not to carry move than 12 b«ads. James NevUle, water race from Shepherd's Greek—Objected to bv W. Brady and A. Wilson—.Adjourned to next cnurt-dav. William Neville, water-race from Woolshed Greek. —Ad journed to next court-day. Undaunted Gold Mining Companv, Ltd, pipe-line, from water race No. 4008 npar Matakaoui—Granted. Same, from Chatto Creek race near Ma takanui—Granted. Same, tail race near Matakanui— Granted. Tinkers Gold Mining Company, Ltd, amalgamation of special claims 109b/92 and 253b—Granted. Henry Budd, duplicate residence area certificate No 22191—-Duplicate to issue.
