WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

WILLOWBY-EIFFELTON MEETING The February meeting of the Wil-lowby-Eiffelton Women’s Institute was held in the Eiffejton Hall. The president, Mrs D. S. Shaw, was in the chair and there were 13 members present. Correspondence included letters from England, one from the institute’s adopted family and one from their English link. Mesdames W. E. Hunt and K. Taylor were chosen as delegates for the district annual meeting in Ashburton in April. Mrs Shaw is to be the delegate to the forthcoming W.I. conference. Suggestions for the annual bay competition were discussed, also matters in connection with the drama circle. A competition and the singing of the institute ode closed a very interesting meeting. The monthly competitions were for a basket of fruit and. flowers for an invalid, bowl of dahlias, ripe tomatoes, and a bloom.
