OUTLOOK FAIR General situation: There are depres sions north-east of New Zealand and south of the South Island. Light to moderate variable winds: weather cloudy at first; fair tc morrow, temperatures moderate. ' Further outlook: Fa J r. , COOLER CONDITIONS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— Conditions in Ashburton to-day were somewhat cooler than those that prevailed yesterday. The maximum temperature yesterday was 79.2 degrees, the sky throughout the day being clouded. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: Other recordings taken at 9 o’clock this morning were:—Minimum temperature 54.0 degrees, earth 62.3 degrees, barometer 29.69 inches. Only 18 minutes of sunshine were recorded yesterday. SUN, MOON AND TIDES Sun rose to-day, 6.11 a.jn.; sets, 7.16 p.m. , Sun rises to-morrow, 6.12 a.m.; sets, 7.14- p.m. Full moon, March 4, 10.34- p.m. Last Quarter, March 11, 2.38 p.m. New Moon, March 19, 3.20 a.m. First Quarter, March 27, 8.09 a.m. High tide on the County coast tomorrow, 2.31 a.m. and 2.52 p.m.
