Visiting rinks are expected from Christchurch, and the green will be formerly opened by the president (Mr D. The green is now in good order, and members have been steadily improving in their play during the last month. —Tinwald Town Board: The monthly meeting of the Tinwald Town Board, held in the Temperance Hall, was attended by Messrs C. Doherty (chairman), J. Gudsell, M. Lagan, and T. Williams. It w'as decided to strike and levy a general rate of 5-8 of a penny in the pound. TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO (From the “Guardian,” Mar. 1, 1925). Overhaul of Septic Tank—Rags, bandages, and ashes in large quantify have been dug from the receptacles of the Ashburton Borough Council septic tank, which is now undergoing its first overhaul. Complaint was made at last night’s meeting of the Borough Council that a large number of residents were not studying ordinary common decency in what they put down the sewers, and a warning was sounded.
