TRUE FORECAST

WARNING BY MAGICIAN KHARTOUM (Sudan). An Arab sheikh in the Western Sudan having failed to receive a permit to shoot an elephant, decided to lead a party on horseback armed as of old with spears. At first the party was unsuccessful, so the sheikh' consulted a local magician. The magician showed him where elephants could be found, but warned. “If you find two, all will be well; if you find three, all will be well; but if you find four, you will kill one of them and one of them will kill one of you. The party found four elephants. The sheikh killed one, but one of his men was trampled to death. —Reuter.
