The Government Meteorologist,. at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone is moving to the east of New Zealand and there is a depression in the South-west Tasman. The forecast for the east coast of the South. Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow is as follows: — Moderate north-easterly winds on the coast, north-westerlies freshening inland for a time to-morrow; weather fair to cloudy, with warm day temperatures. Further outlook: South-west change with some showers.
