Boxer Dies From Injuries.—Laverne Roacli, a Texan middle-Aveight l)Oxer, died of brain injuries suffered when he was knocked out in the tenth round of a bout with George Small, says a New York message. Roach, in 1948, was knocked down seven times in a bout with Marcel Cerdan. He retired, but re-entered the ring last January and had three wins.
