HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY CHRISTCHURCH CENTENNIAL SHOW At a meeting of the Ashburton Horticultural Society, held last evening, it was decided to accede to a request received from the secretary of the Christchurch Horticultural Society asking that a deputation be-received by the Ashburton Society in connection with the centennial horticultural show next year. An invitation was received from Mrs Jos. D. Murdoch, of Mayfield, that members of the society pay a visit to view her display of dahlias. The invitation was accepted. A report on the recent gladiolus show recorded a well attended and most successful fixture. Arrangements were finalised for the dahlia show next month, judges being appointed as follows:—Cut flowers and gladioli, Mr A. J. Millichamp; dahlias, Mr Alf Clark; decorative classes, Miss I Tackson Flowers presented at the meeting for exhibition and discussion were dahlias, gladioli, roses, abutilons, and giant montbretia. Mr A. J. Millichamp presided over an excellent attendance.
