HAMILTON MAN SELECTED
R.N.Z.A.F. SCHOLARSHIP (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 7. The R.N.Z.A.F. scholarship award for 1950 has been made to Aircraftman (2nd class) 0. S. H. Calvert, of Hamilton, who has been selected for an engineering course at Auckland University College this year. Awarded only to serving members of the R.N.Z.A.F., the scholarship may be granted to airmen under 21 who have passed the university entrance examination. Airmen are then paid £225 for the academic year and at a rate in accordance with their Air Force pay for the remainder of the year. This works out at about £3OO a year. The scholarship is tenable at one of the constituent colleges of the University of New Zealand for four years.
