FUTURE AMERICAN INTENTIONS \(Rec. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 17,; Mr Richard Butler, who is the. Conservative Party’s expert on Commonwealth affairs and a prominent member of Mr Churchill’s shadow cabinet, said in an election speech to-day that future American intentions toward Britain might include helping Britain and the Commonwealth to carry their burdens in the east. “It might well be that our economy could be eased at home by relieving us of necessities of exporting finance, and other resources of which we stand so much in need." Mr Butler added that these things might be difficult for people to understand, but. in this way salvation for Britain might lie.
