COMPREHENSIVE INSPECTION OF INSTALLATIONS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 17. The salute at a march past of about GOO officers and ratings and members gl the Women’s Royal New Zealand Naval Service was taken by the Minister of Defence (the Hon. T. L. Macdonald) at Devonport Naval Base to-day. Mr Macdonald, who had never beforjr been in thp base, spent eight hours with the Navy on a comprehensive inspection of 11.M.N.Z.5. Philomel, the adjacent naval dockyard, the naval stores depot at Shoal Bay and the armament depot at Kauri Point in the uper harbour.
