MURDER OF SON

SUSPENDED IMPRISONMENT FOR MOTHER (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 16. Mrs Agneta Soendagaard, aged 43, has been sentenced to two years’ suspended, imprisonment for the mercy killing of her 17-year-old mentally defective son. Mrs Soendegaard told the Court that her son had spent most of his life in mental homes. A few years ago she saw him in the throes of an epileptic fit, and decided then to kill him. She left the gas on while he was sleeping in the kitchen, and sent for the police next morning when she was certain he was dead.
