INTEREST MAINTAINED Yesterday’s fixture in the week’s programme in celebration of the Ashburton Bowling Club’s jubilee was the fours match Afternoon v. Evening players for the W. J. Brown kitty; Evening players were successful by a margin of 20 points. Scores were as follow (evening skips’ names first): A. Argyle 25, H. N. Armstrong 11; H. G. Lowry 29, W. Tulloch 11; R. Downes 11, W. R. Lane 18; W. H. Amos 16, J. Maxwell 13; J. Wylie 12, P. Cookson 19; S. Gray 22, A. Lane 10; W. Dakers 12, E. Dellow 25. Totals, Evening players 127, Afternoon 107.
To-day’s sub-centre Elderly Bowlers’ Day has drawn an entry easily a record for county bowling. No fewer than' 60 players took part in an interesting afternoon, three one-hour games with three players per side.
