WARM TEMPERATURES
Temperatures were warm in Ashburton to-day. Although the sky was overcast at intervals, the sun shone for considerable periods. Recordings taken at 9 o’clock this morning, and having reference to the previous 24hour period were: Maximum temperature 57.4 degrees, minimum 46.8 degrees, earth 58.1 degrees, 'barometer 29.91 inches. Only 36 minutes of sunshine were recorded yesterday.
OUTLOOK FAIR (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: General situation: An anti-cyclone is moving onto northern New Zealand from the Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-inorrow is as follows: —
Light to moderate variable winds, north-easterlies predominating near the coast; weather fine, with cool night and mild day temperatures. Further outlook: Fair.
