REVOLT CRUSHED

TROUBLE IN BAGDAD BAGDAD, February 12. ■ Ali Khalid, Director-General of Police, has been arrested after an unsuccessful attempt to seize key areas of Bagdad to-day. The revolt was quickly crushed without bloodshed.

An official communique said: “As a result of a decision taken by the Council of Ministers to transfer Ali Khalid from his post, he tried to use force to disturb peace and order, but his action was foiled immediately.”
