Part of the cliffs at the south coast resort of Folkestone crashed 200 feet to the promenade below after rains. Unoccupied bomb-damaged houses in north-west London were demolished by winds.
- Other capitals report:— Paris: Civil and military technicians are organising defences in the French Alps against avalanches, which have already killed 20 persons in a week. Brussels': Heavy rain, lashed by a 70-mile-an-hour gale swept the country. Moscow: The Soviet radio says that a thaw has set in, spoiling winter sports.
