TINWALD CLUB
ROAD RACE ON SATURDAY The Tinwald Cycling Club held a 20mile road race round the Grove Farm block on Saturday. As was the case last week, the back-markers again had the upper hand, and these men went through the field to gain the first four places. G. Chester, of Geraldine, won by a narrow margin from T. Peach, while in the sprint for third place between the two scratch men, J. Whyte just prevailed over J. Murphy, of Geraldine.
It was a very interesting race throughout, and all riders showed a good standard of riding and general fitness. Results were:—G. Chester (lmin), 58mins 12 S-ssec, 1; T. Peach (1 1 mins), 2; J. Whyte (scr), 57mins 42 sec, 3 and fastest time; J. Murphy (scr), 4 and second fastest time; R. Scott (Geraldine) (2tmins), 5.
