UPHAM SCHOLARSHIP

CANDIDATES CHOSEN (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 10. The first tAvo sons of former servicemen to be assisted through their university courses by Upham Scholarships have been selected out of seven applicants. The scholars are lan Leslie Milne, of Christchurch, and W. G. Thomson, of Ncav Plymouth. lan Milne, aged IS, has been a ppuil of the Christchurch Boys’ High School. He intends to study for an M.Sc. degree at Canterbury University College. W. G. Thomson, New Plymouth Boy’s High School, is aged 18 and passed the university entrance examination in 1948. He intends to study engineering at Canterbury College.
