MONTH’S GAOL
INTOXICATED DRIVER (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 10. When located by a constable in Newton Road the accused admitted the truck hit a pole but he was not sure where. He seemed to regard the whole matter as a joke, said Sub-Inspector M. E. Lines, when a man was charged in the Police Court to-day \uith intoxication in charge of a truck and driving without a licence. The accused was . Phillip Gordon Brazier, aged 40, a showman. The Sub-Inspector said the truck which was being driven erratically hit a power pole in Nelson Street, one of the wires being brought down. Brazier said he had stopped but when somebody said no damage had been done he went on. Mr J. Molding, S.M., sentenced him to a month in gaol and prohibited him from obtaining a licensee for 12 months.
