UNITED AUSTRALIAN PARTY WIN (United Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, August 8. A Legislative Assembly by-election, fought on the issue of pre-selection, resulted in a substantial .victory for the official United Australia Party Candidate, Mr H. B. Turner, for the Gordon seat, which was made vacant by the resignation of Sir Philip Goldfinch. Mr Turner dedfeated the Independent United Australia Party candidate, Mr S. A. Storey, by 5400 votes.
