MINISTER DISMISSED.
THE ALBERTA CABINET. NEW BANKING LAW PASSED. (United Press Association—Copyright.) OTTAWA, August 7. The Premier of Alberta (Mr W. Aberhart) has dismissed the AttorneyGeneral (Mr J. W. Hugill) and is taking the portfolio himself. This is the fourth Minister to be dismissed in two years. Calgary Brokers, Ltd., the largest firm of its kind in Alberta, announces that it is closing, arid predicts that business stagnation will result from Mr Aberhart’s legislation. The firm’s 50 employees have been dismissed. The Alberta Legislature lias adopted the Bankers Control Bill, which demands that bankers shall be licensed by August 27, when the House is prorogued. Bankers will delay complying with the legislation pending the probability of the Dominion Government at Ottawa disallowing the Act. The Prime Minister (the Rt Hon. W. L. Mackenzie King) declared: “When the legislation reaches the capital we will consider what action to take.”
