England’s team for the third Test against New Zealand, which will be played at the Oval next Saturday, Monday, August 16, and Tuesday, August 17, is:— Ri. W. V. Robins (.Middlesex), captain. K. Fames (Essex). W. R. Hammond (Gloucestershire). T. W. Goddard (Gloucestershire). C. J. Barnett (Gloucestershire). L. E. S. Ames (Kent). E. Paynter (’Lancashire). J. Hardstaff (Nottinghamshire). L. Hutton (Yorkshire). —-. Matthews (Sussex). D. Compton (Middlesex). J. Smith (Middlesex), Brown (Surrey), and Parks (Sussex) are dropped from the second test team being replaced by Fames, Matthews and Compton. The team for the first test was Robins, Barnett, Hutton, Hardstaff, Parks Paynter, Ames, Voce (Nottinghamshire), Verity (Yorkshire), and Gover (Surrey).
