REGULAR FOREIGN BROADCASTS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August . Asked if there had been any developments in connection with his proposal to have regular shortwave broadcasts from New Zealand to other countries, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, in an interview, said the statement he had made before his departure for England still stood. Some scheme of broadcasting to other countries would he established immediately the arrangements for the Dominion’s internal broadcasting system were completed, by broadcasting from a powerful station in more than one language. Mr Savage hopes to he able to tell other nations what New Zealand is achieving, as well as advertise its products and attractions. Mr Savage also said that Sir John Reith (Director-General 1 of the British Broadcasting Corporation), whom he met in London, had offered to give New Zealand any assistance lie could in the development of radio services in New Zealand, and Had offered to send a man to the Dominion to advise if at any time it was found necessary to obtain expert advice on any technical broadcasting problem.
