QUEEN ADVISES COOK.
ARMY KITCHEN VISITED. TOMATOES AND HEALTH. LONDON, July 25. The Queen smilingly gave hints on cooking when sho visited the Queen s Bays at Aldershot and talked with soldiers and their wives and children. Picking up a handful of dried peas at the cookhouse, Her Majesty advised Cook-Sergeant Leeves to “put a little milk in the water when you are cooking them.” . Seeing the men’s tea, which consisted of ham and tomatoes, Her Majesty remarked: “Very good, indeed! Tomatoes are a fine, healthy food.” The Queen warned the children to be careful how they crossed roads.
