CATTLE SHOW.
HELD AT NATIONAL MARKET. In conjunction with the National Week market held at Addington yesterday, a- cattle show was held. The judge was Mr Jos. Webb, of Taihape, an experienced judge of fat stock. His awards were as follow: Steer, under three years (22): J. S. Mcßride (Winchester) 1, Arthur Reid (Outram) 2, J. H. Muirhead (Lagmhor) 3. Bullock, any age (17): Arthur Reid (Outram) 1, Fernie Bros. (Wanganui) 2 and 3. Heifer, under three years (19): J. SMcßride (Winchester) 1 and 2, Donald Grant (Tiinaru) 3 and v h c. Three steers, over two and up to three years (16): T. H. Wilkinson, sen. (Spotswood) 1, J; S. Mcßride lWinchester) 2, G. J. H. Reid (Rotherham) 3 and v h c. The prize money in each class was £5 for first, £3 for second, and £1 for third. In addition, the Canterbury master butchers presented a silver cup (with miniature) to the winner of Class 4. This was Avon by T. H. Wilkinson, sen. (SpotsAvood). A special prize of £2 2s, given by tlie Aberdeen Angus Breed Society for the best beast of the breed in the show, Avas won by J. S. Mcßride (Winchester).
