Sampson. 3a min—C. Annett, J. McGee, D. Doyle, D. O’Reilly, L. Parkin. 3smin —Minogue, T. Digby, J. Stephens, S. Shannon. G. Martin. smin—K. Andrew, W. Weir, C. Andrew, T. Brooks, J. Blackburn, L. Arnst. lOmin —J. Smith, J. McGee. Of the omin markers there should be very little difference in the riders. W. Minogue and J. Stephens should prove to be the pick of the 3£mm riders. The 3£min men should be near at hand at the finish. , F. Kirdy (2imin), with the help of his markers, is expected to trouble the back-markers for fastest time honours. W. Allen, who rode fifth in the Waimate to Christchurch race last year, should prove himself this season. M. Kirdy (Mid-Canterbury and South Canterbury Derby champion) will prove a tough proposition off the mark. The one minute riders all have good performances to their credit. J. Cremin (36-mile North Canterbury champion and three-mile New Zealand champion) is expected to take part in further classic road races this season.
