FOR ST. STEPHEN'S PARISH HALL
LADIES’ GUILD FAIR. The parish hall funds of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church will benefit by £27 as the result of the household fair held in the hall yesterday afternoon by the Ladies’ Guild. The efforts of the Guild proved most successful. In place conventional stalls, goods were offered in sections, and appropriate fittings were installed for the occasion. The Vicar, Archdeacon A. J. Petrie, expressed thanks to the Guild lor its work, and also to Miss L. Acton for arranging the programme. Items given were as follow:—Chorus, “Santa Lucia,” choir; duet, “Mynheer and his little Dutch Lady,” Shirley James and Frances Collins; song, “All Thro’ the Night,” choir ; tap dance, Betty Fowke; part-song, “Before the Sun Awakes the Morn,” choir members; action song, “The Birds,” Faye Garner; chorus, “The Little Reapers,” choir; solo, “’Love’s Old Sweet Song,” John Pooley; action chorus, “Attention,” choir members; song and dance, “Narcissus,” Maisie Wilson; chorus, “Ye Gentle Warblers,” choir; action song, “The Lilac Tree,” Joyce Wilson ; partsong, “A Twilight Lullaby/’ choir. Those assisting in the sections were: Kitchen, Mesdames M. Knox, W. H. Amos, R. H. Biggar, C. M. Innes; nursery, Mesdames F. Curtis, J. Sinclair, H. Armstrong, W. Childs, E. Ruddock ; bathroom, Mesdames A. J. Petrie, E. C. Bathurst, H. Smallbone,- W. H. Rundle, G. Hosken, W. Williamson, and Miss W. Patching; cafeteria, Mesdames F. M. Mahoney, W. Spedding, S. Mitchell, P. Leslie, A. M. Meredith.
