THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION. DECISIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE. The executive of the Ashburton Basketball Association met last evening, the president (Mr S. G. Macfarlane) presiding. Details of the referees, transport and accommodation in connection with the New Zealand tournament at Auckland wpta vpri The Technical Old Girls’ Club was granted permission to play Technical Old Girls (Timaru) on September 11. The South' Canterbuiy Association wrote asking for a junior team to be sent with the senior teams to Timaru on August 14. It xvas decided to send the junior team. The action of the president and secretary (Mr C. Ives) in asking for games w T ith North Canterbury on September 11 instead 'bf September 4 was approved. . . It was decided to purchase a trophy as an annual prize for the C grade niue-a-side knock-out competition. Prizes for this competition will be miniature cups for the senior grade, Mr Bowman's trophy for tin* junior grade, and engraved buttons for the C grade. It was resolved to ask permission from the Ashburton Borough Council to take up a collection on the grounds on August 7. It was decided to ask Messrs Meredith and Wallis to act as linesmen for the games between Canterbury and Ashburton on Saturday, and for the senior team women to assist also. The Draw for Saturday. The following is* the draw for the junior matches on Saturday:— 1.45 p.m. —Allenton v. High School (Miss Chamberlain); Technical A v. St. Andrew’s (Miss Garbutt); Tinwald v. High School Old Girls (Mr Macfarlane). 4 p.m.—High School v. St. Andrew’s (Miss Donaldson); Technical A v. High School Old Girls (Miss Burgess); Tinwald v. Allenton (Miss Meredith). Representative games will be played as follow: — 2.30 p.m. —Ashburton B v. Canterbury senior B. 3.ls.—Ashburton A v. Canterbury seniors.
