MINERS’ DISPUTE.
CONSIDERATION OF DEMANDS. THE CONFERENCE ADJOURNS. (United Press Association—Copyright ) SYDNEY, August 3. The coal conference adjourned until Tuesday next to enable the mine owners to consult individual proprietors on the wage proposals of the miners’ delegates. These include the restoration of the 12 per cent, wage cut imposed in 1930, and an increase of 5 per cent, in the wages of “off hands.’’ Tho Miners’ Council will meet tomorrow to decide whether the .sectional strikes now in operation at the Broken Hill Proprietary’s and other pits shall be discontinued pending the outcome of the present negotiations. It is reliably reported that the Miners’ Council will also complete plans for a general strike in the event of a collapse of the negotiations. Miners at tho Broken Hill Proprietary’s collieries did not resume work to-day, as had been agreed yesterday, and in company with men .from some of the other pits are adopting a defiant attitude.
