ROTATION OF LABOUR.
MINISTER VISITS ASHBURTON. WORK FOR THE UNEMPLOYED. The Acting-Minister of Employment (the Hon. P. C. Webb) visited Ashburton this afternoon, when he conferred with representatives of local bodies about the provision of work for unemployed men in the County under the Government’s rotation of labour scheme.
Mr Webb arrived from Geraldine by car at 4 o’clock, and remained a. short time. He was met by Mr H. E. Herring, M.P., and by the Mayor (Mr W. H. Woods), the Town Clerk {Mr R. C. Major), the County Chairman (Mr F. Frampton), and the County Clerk (Mr G. Kelly), and was entertained at afternoon tea.
