(From Our Own Correspondents.) , WESTERFIELD. WOMEN’S DIVISION MEETS. The July meeting of the Westerfield branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at the Westerfield Homestead, Mrs R. J. Biddiek presiding. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs Lowry and family in their bereavement. Mrs A. T. Williams (Ashburton) gave an interesting talk on Edward Greig, the composer, and at the conclusion of her talk Dr* N. E. H. Fulton, accompanied by Mrs Williams, played one of the Greig compositions. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr Fechney, Miss Findlay," and to Mrs Williams and Dr. Fulton, who also judged the competitions. The results were:—Child’s lunch: Miss 1, Mrs D. Shaw 2. Vegetable: Mrs'J, Findlay 1, Mrs D. Shaw 2. Fruit: Mrs Watso’n 1. Flower: Mrs Watson 1, Miss Watson 2. Shrub: Mrs Shaw 1. - The previous meeting was held at the home of Mrs H. A. Sheate. Mrs Dunstan and Miss Goldsmith, of Lismore, gave demonstrations on wool mats and wood fibre flowers. They exhibited beautiful specimens of their work.' Votes ’ of thanks were passed to: the hostess and the demonstrators. WAKANUL THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. The annual congregational meeting of 'the Wakanui Presbyterian Church was held recently, the Rey. R. S. Watson (Ashburton) presiding. The reports of the various departments in church work all showed satisfactory progress. Votes of thanks for their work in the past were accorded to Messrs E. Bonnington and Corbett, who resigned from the positions of treasurer and session clerk. The 'retiring managers were reelected.
